Florida State Mold Licensing
In March of 2010 Florida Legislature began requiring for anyone performing mold related services to be licensed through the Department of Business and Professional Regulation . This required persons who were removing or attempting to remediate mold be licensed as a Mold Remediator. It also included those inspecting and testing for mold growth to be licensed as a Mold Assessor. The regulation among many other things restricts a remediator from also being the assessor on the same project and vice versa. While an individual can hold both licenses in good standing, they cannot pre or post test a project in which they are remediating or estimating to remediate.
Element850 currently holds both licenses in good standing with the State of Florida.
- Mold Remediation License – MRSR71
- Mold Assessor License – MRSA1020
The purpose of the Florida Statute under Chapter 468.84 reads;
“The Legislature finds it necessary in the interest of the public safety and welfare, to prevent damage to real and personal property, to avert economic injury to the residents of this state, and to regulate persons and companies that hold themselves out to the public as qualified to perform mold-related services.”
